DAY 2 (January 23rd, 2018)

Today is the day that I’d visit my assigned school for the SEA-Teacher program. As usual, I started the day with having breakfast at Mom Aida’s canteen. The menu for today’s breakfast was fish dishes with both bangus and fried long-fish. After the breakfast, I and the others were arranged to visit the PSU Integrated High School, with our internship supervisor, Mrs. Agnes and Mrs. Ping. The high school is consist of both Junior and Senior High School, due to the K-12 Curriculum. We were directed to the Grade 8 – Granite Classroom to have our meeting with the principal and the supervising teachers. Mrs. Agnes also handed to us the schedule for our observation and practice teaching. As for me, because there are 4 Biology Student and the school only has 9 classes in Junior High School department, then I was rearranged to the Senior High School.


After the meeting, we have a tour around the PSU Integrated High School, Library, and Elementary School. At the library, we’ve been introduced to the board of staffs who held the meetings there. Then, we proceeded to the elementary school building. The elementary school building is splitted to the 2 buildings, the Grade 1-3 Building and the Grade 4-6 Building. There, we met the elementary students who are active and happy when we came there. At the other buildings, our friends who will be teaching the elementary were introduced in front of the classes with their teachers. After that, some of us took photos with those students and went back to our respective rooms.

        

At around 1 pm., Ms. Agnes visited our room to introduce us with our buddies, PSU students who will help and accompany us during SEA-Teacher program. I was introduced with my buddy as well, Tom Ricsan Delos Santos, or I called him Tom. Tom is a 3rd year student in BSE Biology too, so it’s good for me since I can ask his help with lesson plan. After exchanging contacts, we headed to the canteen. There, we were served with the trademark dishes of Phillipines, Chicken Tinola dan Adobo. Tinola is something like chicken soup with boiled young papaya. Meanwhile, the Adobo is consist of chicken liver with coconut milk. I don’t like the Adobo because I hate the innards.  After eating, we had a campus tour with our buddies and went back to our rooms.

At 3 pm., the van picked us up to relocate us from the accreditation building to the resort. We packed up our belonging then we were brought to Ariel & Fe Resort in Bayambang. The room in the resort consist of 2-person room and 3-person room. In the resort, my roommate is only Mufti, meanwhile the others were in the rooms beside us. The room is much better than when we were still in the accreditation building.

Kamupta!! Hanif is here. And it was still 2 am. when the bus stopped at the rest area and Mr. Tom allowed us to fill our belly that was empty since before the departure from Jakarta. After ate some of Jollibee with the others, I went back to the bus. There, Mrs. Sally Jarin, our PSU coordinator came and greeted us. After some talks and stuffs, we resumed the journey to PSU Bayambang Campus. It was around 4.30 am. that the bus stopped at PSU Bayambang Campus and I with the other boys were dropped in the accreditation office for temporary lodging. There, I was a roommate with 3 other boys, which are Ahmad Rifki, the calm and religious person from fellow Jambi University student; Muhammad Fakhri Al-Kahfi, the joker and our batch’s chief from Islamic University of Indonesia; and lastly Muhammad Mufti, the hunk from Indonesia University of Education. DAY 1 (January 22nd 2018)

Magandang umaga!! Today was the day that marks the starter point of the SEA-TEACHER program. At first, we ate breakfast at the university’s canteen. The breakfast was consist of boiled egg and a local cuisine, which called bangus or milk fish. The bangus is a boneless fried fish and the taste is a bit salty like Indonesia’s ikan asin . After breakfast, I and the others visited PSU Bayambang’s Faculty of Science and Math. There, we were introduced to the teachers and staffs and had a good time talking with each other. At 10 am. the bus came to carry us to the Lingayen City. Along the road, we enjoyed the scenery of the Pangasinan Province, such as the migrant birds, the fishponds, and of course the beach of Lingayen Gulf. The bus stopped at the Pangasinan Provincial Capitol, which used as the governor’s office. There, we were formally greeted with the vice governor and the executive boards of Pangasinan Province. Day 7 (January 28th, 2018)

Sunday is coming! I woke up early so I could get myself ready for the events today. At around 9 am., Mr. Manzano already came to our resort with Mr. Maynard. Mr. Maynard is the driver for PSU van and he’ll be our driver today. Then, they asked Ake to go to the market to buy meats, fishes, chickens, seasonings, and also beverages. After all of us were ready to go, we got into the van and came to pick Ake at the market. Then, we started our trip to Tondaligan Beach in Dagupan. It will took around 2 hours until we arrived in Dagupan. Around 11 am. we arrived at Tondaligan Beach. There, we unloaded all of our things for BBQ party. Meanwhile the boys are preparing for the grills, the girls are cleaning the ingredients. Mr. Manzano and Mr. Meynard also helped us to prepare the grills.
